Short version: Raw QR does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The only device resource it accesses is your camera, solely to scan QR codes. All processing happens entirely on your device.
Raw QR ("the App") is a QR code scanner for Android developed by ZenTen Apps. Its sole purpose is to decode QR codes using your device's camera and display the raw decoded value to you — nothing more.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and confirms that no data ever leaves your device as a result of using the App.
The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:
The App requests the following Android permission:
The App declares android.hardware.camera as
not required
(required="false"), meaning it can be installed on
devices without a camera, though scanning functionality will be
unavailable without one.
The App does not write any user data to local storage. On first launch
it removes a legacy SharedPreferences key
(safe_qr_history_v1) left over from a previous version of
the App, and no new data is written in its place. No databases, files,
or persistent preferences are created by the App.
The App uses the following third-party libraries. None of them collect data on behalf of the App:
The App does not declare the
INTERNET permission in its Android manifest. It is
therefore technically incapable of making any network requests on its
own. Any network activity (e.g., opening a scanned URL or the Google
AI Search page) is performed by your device's browser or other apps,
not by Raw QR.
The App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. It is safe for use by all age groups.
If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be published at the same URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
